After taking an art appreciation class in college, my passion for painting was awakened and it's been a part of my life ever since. I was born in San Antonio, Texas and I now reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I studied at the Wilson School of Art for several years, where I honed my abilities to sketch and paint. I am self-taught in many areas, but I have also studied with master artists, such as Sterling Edwards and Birgit O'Connor.
I love the process of creation and expression through paints, canvas, and brushes. The first medium I worked with was oil paint, but motherhood led me to experiment with many other mediums. Over more than 20 years of practice, I have learned to create both abstract and realistic pieces in acrylics, oils, inks, pencil and much more, but watercolor is what I have come to love and enjoy the most. I'm always looking to expand my horizons, so I've recently been using alcohol inks, an exciting medium that results in vibrant, free-flowing creations.
I believe that we hang artwork in our homes because it stirs our emotions, sparks our memories, and brings life to every room. Art is a daily reminder of the thing we love. I hope that my work will bring a smile, a feeling, or a memory as you view it in your home!
